What inspired
the SOULMATE
ORACLE?
"We wanted something we could use ourselves," explain
authors John and Bonney Grey. "A tool that would help us
keep our love strong and lasting."
When they met in the 1980s, both were experienced counselors.
John got a Ph.D. in Psychology at Stanford in 1975, where he
taught and codirected a National Science Foundation-sponsored
Research Center. Bonney received a B.S.N. at University of Wisconsin
in 1979, and, in addition to being an R.N., was a counselor
and intuitive reader.
"We started out with a great relationship, but eventually
the honeymoon ended. We tried self-help books and tapes. Good
information, but hard to apply ... and easy to forget."
"We saw a need for a different type of self-help tool.
One that you could use anytime, anywhere, whenever you need
help. One that would guide you to find new, positive choices
... "
Thus the cards were born. Why cards? John and Bonney knew cards
had a unique power to help people.
Bonney was an expert in Tarot Cards, an ancient and powerful
tool for counseling and tapping into higher wisdom. John was
a teacher and behavioral scientist. For years in his communication
and relationship classes, he used flash cards as a device for
teaching new skills.
So they created the cards as a source of intuitive wisdom that
evokes wonder and magic ... and as a practical learning tool,
putting at your fingertips the best advice from modern psychology.
Another John Gray, author of Men
Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, says, "This deck
is a powerful tool to expand joy and happiness and discover
new options. Use the cards not only for problems, but any time
you want to bring magic and heart alive."
Angeles Arrien, Ph.D., author of The Tarot Handbook, says, "The
cards are beautiful mirrors for the qualities and stages necessary
for developing fulfilling and growth-filled relationships."
John and Bonney are passionate about helping others have the
relationships of their dreams. "We've found how to keep
love and passion strong. Even challenges deepen us as soulmates.
We know it can be done, how to do it. Our life's work is coaching
singles and couples to get the love they want."
